12/14/2023 0 Comments Blizzard diablo immortal forumSince the moment we stepped into the office on Monday, we have been discussing everything Diablo non-stop. And so today it has taken to the forums to confirm that the company is aware of the magnitude of its mishandling of Diablo at BlizzCon, and that it is listening to the community. But, I hope Blizzard see that it's also a game that would work great on the Nintendo Switch or a system that accepts controller input. But in reality Blizzard put the spotlight on Diablo Immortal, a game that it was not developing internally but collaborating with an external studio known for standard, not-that-great mobile fare - NetEase.Īfter playing Diablo Immortal I'm okay with it being a stop-gap in the lead-up to Diablo 4. Instead of stating "multiple projects are in the works" Blizzard should have released a teaser for Diablo 4, in much the same way Bethesda did with The Elder Scrolls 6 after announcing Elder Scrolls Blades for mobile. Where there weren't necessarily in response to Diablo Immortal's content, and the cinematic trailer was pretty cool, but in response to hyper surrounding the potential reveal of a Diablo 4 announcement or even a remaster/remake of Diablo 2.Īt the very least, Diablo Immortal should not have closed out BlizzCon in front of an audience that have enjoyed and loved Blizzard experiences primarily on the PC platform. To call the response negative would also be an understatement, with both the Diablo Immortal cinematic and gameplay trailers garnering hundreds of thousands of down-votes. It quickly became the most talked about thing in the world of games for a few days based on the simple fact that Diablo fans were expecting the announcement of a brand-new PC and console title and not a mobile-only Diablo experience. To say that the announcement of mobile MMO action-RPG Diablo Immortal didn't go down well at BlizzCon this past weekend would be the understatement of the year.
